~New Volcanoland~ 006
I know there was an update a few days ago, but I've been taking a lot of pictures lately, sorry about that.

First and Nasira's baby has been born. Her name is One.

Is she making the bed, or pondering about the incredible adventure possibilities in that map?

Angry Cheese. Grr.

The Observatory, home of the Galileis. (Not Lookers, I made a mistake last update, sorry)

Nasira and Cheese. Just talking and stuff, probably about babies, since Nasira just had one.

New House! This one completes the first row of cliff houses.

I haven't used lens flare in a while so there. Future plantsims house I guess.

A vampire. I introduced two vampire siblings to the neighborhood. This is Josephine. Hopefully her brother will be in the next update.

I put the vampires in the cliff house with the red roof. Their coffins are in the top floor, and I like to imagine they enter flying through that big window while turned into bats. XD

Thank you for watching~

Wow. These are amazing! How did you even build a house on a cliff!?

Thank you, I use lotadjuster to put empty lots in the location I want and remove the road, and then a build. Also I use Inge's portal revealer to delete vehicle portals and move pedestrian portals to a safe part of the lot, like the entrance of the house.

By far my favourite entry about ~NEW VOLCANOLAND~. The plantsim's tower is absolutely brilliant, as well as all those cliff houses are. And that road you attached to the cliff (it's psychosim's recolour of criquette's ferry landing, right?) definitely adds some additional character to the neighbourhood. I certainly wouldn't mind living there.

Question: Do you plan your buildings out beforehand or just start building and see where it leads you?

Heheh, I'm happy that you noticed the road in the cliff, it really helps to complete the scenery, right? And yeah I think it's psychosim's recolor.

I don't really plan anything, but I do have some general ideas about how each area should be, I usually just try to make each building unique (though lately I've been afraid they're starting to look "samey")

Oh no, don't worry about that! I think it's great when neighbouring houses look cohesive. As long as every one of those houses has a floorplan of its own and has small details that make it differ from its friends, everything's just great!

I love how the method you use to blur the non-focal parts of shots of houses makes everything look like miniatures-- like a stop-motion film or like someone taking pictures of their painstakingly-painted model train set terrain.

Thank you, it does look like that! My dad used to build model train sets so now that I think about it ... omigosh I'm a clone of my dad! XD
